The Grammar of Existence is a conceptual architecture for exploring the ways language is more than the structure we use to describe reality, it is also how we construct it. It is an investigation of how the organization of language shapes perception, identity, and meaning itself. This framework underlies all my work, from public installations and poetry to research in linguistic health and trauma studies.
At its core, The Grammar of Existence asks: How does language define what we can perceive? Where do its limits begin? How does it shape our ability to process suffering, time, and belonging?
Key Areas of Inquiry
- Linguistic Boundaries & Perception – How language both enables and limits what we can perceive and express.
- The Cognitive Threshold of Language – Investigating the emergence of symbolic thought and its role in shaping consciousness.
- Trauma & Language – Exploring how linguistic structures influence the way we process and articulate suffering.
- Meaning, Belonging & Absence – Examining how language both connects and alienates, and how absence can be as meaningful as presence.
How This Work Manifests
- Research & Writing – Essays, lectures, and studies engaging with philosophy, linguistics, and cognitive science.
- Public Engagement & Workshops – Facilitating conversations on how linguistic structures shape personal and collective experience.
- Interdisciplinary Collaborations – Working with artists, researchers, and practitioners to explore language’s role across disciplines.
Why It Matters
Language is not neutral. It determines what is visible, what is sayable, and what remains outside knowledge. Examining The Grammar of Existence allows us to challenge inherited linguistic structures and consider new ways of seeing, thinking, and belonging. This project exists at the intersection of theory and lived experience. If you are interested in collaborating on research, participating in a workshop, or exploring these ideas in applied settings, I welcome the conversation.
